This crochet flower fidget toy is a simple, no-sew pattern where the petals are worked directly onto the flower, no assembly required! It offers the same tactile satisfaction as a Pop-It toy but without the noise, making it ideal for quiet play, stress relief, or on-the-go fidgeting.

Finished amigurumi measures approximately 15 cm (6 inches) in width.

Stitches & Abbreviations
- st/sts – stitch/stitches
- ch – chain
- slst – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- sc inc – single crochet increase, 2 single crochets in one stitch
- sc dec – single crochet decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together
Pattern Notes
- This pattern is written using US crochet terms.
- I crocheted this fidget toy using the “Yarn Under Single Crochet” technique. This technique makes the stitches tighter and more aligned. You will want to have tighter tension for this project, so it will pop!
- Crochet in continuous spiral rounds. Do not join at the end of each round unless otherwise stated.
- Use a running stitch marker to keep your place when crocheting in rounds.
- Use invisible decrease for a nicer finish.
- Use the ultimate finish to neatly close up your amigurumi pieces.
- Optional: Use the invisible increase and invisible decrease to enhance the appearance of your amigurumi.
Free Fidget Toy Crochet Pattern
Flower Petals (make 5)
Using a 4.5 mm crochet hook and your choice of yarn color…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 6 sc (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc-inc in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3: [Sc, sc-inc] x 6 times (18 sts)
Round 4: [Sc, sc-inc, sc] x 6 times (24 sts)
Round 5-8: Sc in each st around (24 sts x 4 rounds)
Round 9: [Sc, sc-dec, sc] x 6 times (18 sts)
Round 10: [Sc, sc-dec] x 6 times (12 sts)
Cut and fasten off. Compress the petal so that it’s flat and the stitches align.
Flower Center
Using a 4.5 mm crochet hook and your choice of yarn color…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 6 sc (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc-inc in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3: [Sc, sc-inc] x 6 times (18 sts)
Round 4: [Sc, sc-inc, sc] x 6 times (24 sts)
Round 5: [3 sc, sc-inc] x 6 times (30 sts)
Round 6: Attach the petals to the center of the flower. [6 sc for each petal onto the center] x 5 petals (30 sts)

| Insert your hook into the petal first and then into the flower center |

| Insert hook through 2 of the stitches of the petal, then through the next available stitch of the flower center |

Stuff the center of the flower as you’re decreasing.
Round 9: [Sc, sc-dec] x 6 times (12 sts)

Inspiration and Why I Made This
This free crochet flower fidget toy pattern was inspired by a happy accident. When I was designing my giant crochet friendship bracelet garland, I decided to leave the big “beads” unstuffed.
When filled, they were too heavy. But when left hollow, they collapsed easily for storage, and, surprise! They made a satisfying “popping” motion when pressed, just like the classic Pop-It fidget toy.
That got the wheels turning. What if I used the same structure to create a crochet pop-it toy? The only difference is that the crochet pop-it fidget doesn’t make the same popping noise as the Pop-It toy.
But otherwise, that’s exactly what this is, a soft, squishy, silent crochet pop-it fidget toy in the shape of a flower. It gives you the same tactile sensation that’s perfect for sensory play or simply passing the time.
For this project, I chose to use Sheepjes Chunky Monkey yarn for its anti-pilling properties. Because let’s be honest, fidget toys get a lot of love, and I wanted it to look fresh for as long as possible.
Whether you’re looking for a way to ease anxiety, keep your hands busy, or just want something fun to play with, fidget toys are for everyone.
